Rebekah Durham began studying violin at the age of four. She received her Artist Diploma as well as her Bachelors of Music degree Magna Cum Laude from the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music. She has studied primarily with Linda Wang, James Maurer, and William Preucil. Currently, she is a graduate student at the Juilliard School under the instruction of Hyo Kang.
Ms. Durham has performed widely throughout Colorado, as well as much of the United States, Europe, South America, and Japan.
This summer, she is performing at the Great Mountains Music Festival in Korea. She has given solo performances with the National Repertory Orchestra, Niwot Timberline Symphony Orchestra, Denver Philharmonic, and the Lamont Symphony Orchestra.
Rebekah was the 2007 winner of the Lamont Solo Honors Competition as well as a prizewinner in the Aurora Symphony Young Artist Concerto Competition. She was a 2004 graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music’s Young Artist Program, and she has been a participant in numerous summer festivals including Aspen Music Festival, National Repertory Orchestra, and Cascade Festival of Music. As a member of the Playground Ensemble, she was active in Colorado’s new music scene, premiering new works at events such as the International Society of Improvised Music Conference, Colorado Music Educators Association Conference, and Aurora Music Teachers Association Conference.
She performed in Juilliard’s 2010 Focus Festival and continues to play new music with the New Juilliard Ensemble and AXIOM in venues such as Avery Fisher Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York City.
