The concert promises to be a memorable experience, blending the symphonic sounds of Boulder’s finest orchestra with the captivating guitar melodies of Trace Bundy. The program includes a selection of Bundy’s original compositions, showcasing his unique fingerstyle technique and innovative approach to music. Known for his engaging performances and intricate guitar work, Bundy’s music will be brought to life in a new way, backed by the Boulder Symphony.
In addition to Bundy’s original tunes, the concert will feature popular arrangements by Boulder Symphony composer in residence John Clay Allen, providing a mix of familiar melodies and new sounds. Boulder Symphony, known for its dynamic performances and commitment to bringing high-quality music to the Boulder community, will add its symphonic touch to these popular pieces, creating a rich, immersive musical experience.
Of this new collaboration, Boulder Symphony Conductor and Music Director Devin Patrick Hughes says:
True to our theme of “Orchestrating the Unexpected,” we’re excited to collaborate with Boulder’s own guitar hero and legend Trace Bundy, a one-of-a-kind talent. Adding a symphonic sound, courtesy of our composer in residence John Clay Allen is sure to be an inspiring and enriching experience for all of us. By continuing to showcase artists and composers in a fresh and unique way, our goal is to make sure every Boulder Symphony concert truly surprises and delights the audience.
