BOULDER, Colo. October 5, 2022 — Music fans who enjoy live performances can join the musicians of the Boulder Symphony for a live concert at 1421 Spruce Street, in downtown Boulder, on October 29 at 3:00 p.m.
Celebrate Halloween and the beginning of fall with a kids concert! Come enjoy some pirate-themed symphonic and cinematic classics – from The Pirates of the Caribbean to Samson and Delilah to The Carnival of the Animals – performed by the Boulder Symphony and conducted by Devin Patrick Hughes. The program will also feature The Treasure of Sound, a work by Hughes and other local musicians.
The concert follows two “pirates” that have arrived at the orchestra, both vying to find the treasure on their maps. They explore the orchestra together, as the music reveals clues about where the treasure can be found. Kids and adults alike are encouraged to wear their favorite sea-faring gear, ready to dance and sing sea shanties. You can visit this link to learn the dance before the show! A teacher’s guide is also available to concertgoers as a fun and informative resource for this concert and future performances.
Lastly, HB Woodsongs of Boulder has graciously donated some instruments for the concert’s “petting zoo”! So be sure to attend this performance to try out some instruments!
