A poised and dynamic flutist, Paige Michaud has competed and performed both domestically and internationally. During her undergraduate studies with Dr. Christine Beard, Michaud performed at the 2021 Flauti al Castello in Anghiari, Italy, the 2022 National Flute Convention in Chicago, Illinois, and the XIV Festival Flautas del Mundo in Mendoza, Argentina. She won first prize at the 2022 Lincoln Symphony Young Artist Competition, the 2022 Nebraska Wind Symphony Young Artist Competition, and the 2021 Puerto Rico Collaborative Piano Competition with her piano partner, Yimeng Xu. As a passionate proponent of women’s issues and DEI initiatives, Paige’s article, “Misogyny in Mozart: Is Le Nozze di Figaro Truly About Figaro?” was published in the Summer 2021 edition of the NMTA newsletter. Michaud holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is pursuing a Master of Music degree from the University of Colorado – Boulder.
